Over the summer, Parker and Abby have had time to process many things. While Abby spent most of her time processing the stress that awaited her as college application season approached, Parker was questioning a different dilemma. More specifically: Abby’s choice in fashion.
This staff editorial is by no means insinuating that Abby’s clothes and accessories are ugly, basic or untrendy. Instead, this space is used to identify a pattern. Abby often wears the same thing everyday, and after building a strong relationship with Abby’s mother, Parker has learned that this is a choice. Mrs. Luong frequently tries to take Abby to the famously trendy Tillys clothing store in Torrance. While Parker would love the opportunity to shop with Mrs. Luong, Abby is not so thrilled, and therefore her outfits do not showcase the joy that envelops her.
You may be asking what Parker plans to do about this tragedy. In a perfect world, the two gal pals would take a trip to Tillys chaperoned by Mrs. Luong. Unfortunately, this flawed world has made a mess out of the college-eager seniors’ schedules.
To compromise, Parker has created a Fashion Vision board that displays both Abby’s current state and Abby’s attainable potential if she gives Tillys another chance.
Since Abby has spent the summer teaching small children art and the wonderful game of tennis, it’s fair to say she is loaded. She has given Parker an imaginary budget of $500.
Pictured below is a tragic Abigail. She is wearing a crew-neck burgundy shirt, capri leggings and her signature Vans.
Lets start from the bottom … Because of Parker’s wonky feet, she found Vans quite uncomfortable as a child. Abby’s utilization of this horrid brand pains Parker and her childhood dreams. Parker suggests a compromise—Vans Women’s Lowland Comfycush Sport Shoes. These shoes have a sleek Reebok-like appearance but with a comfy cush feel.
Next, the leggings … cut-off leggings are not un-cute, they are just too athletic for everyday wear. Instead, we substitute some comfy parachute cargos. These pants not only allow movement, but are also the perfect lounge pant for Mainsheet weekends.
Finally, we have the signature Peanuts’ Snoopy shirt because until now she has not been a “good man, Charlie Brown.” But if she takes this advice and stops neglecting her mother, Abby will not only look stylish and make Parker happy, she will emulate the energy that bubbles around her.
Abby and Parker will be spending a lot of time together during their final year at Chadwick. It only feels right that Abby should get a cute new wardrobe. After all, it’s Parker who has to look at her the most. Nevertheless, Abby is beautiful inside and out, and Parker will forever cherish these last six months together.
Mainsheet is life. Our advisor, Jeff Fellenzer (a.k.a. Fellz) is king, and Abby and Parker’s relationship is true friendship. Look out for Abby on Instagram @wickfits!
